1) It was all fun and games until it was 6:18am... - This game is terrible.

I started playing this damn game and it kept me up all night and I didn't even realize it until the sun was coming up. I was even late to work and got chewed out by my boss.

Now I can't stop myself from playing it.

Evil. Pure Evil.

2) This is what the gaming industry needs to be - This game is the perfect example of what the gaming industry needs to be. Right off the bat there is no MP in the game...Now I'm not saying I'm against MP but some games just don't need MP like Fallout, Skyrim, other RPG's and this game.

This is a heavy single player experience and I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! I'm a huge Fallout fan and while this is no Fallout it will definitely scratch that itch. Two games on one disc adds up to a incredible value and IMO every ps4 owner should have this game in their collection.

I have never played the Metro series before although I really wanted to but did not have a 360 to play 2033 and later did not want to start with Last Light on ps3 without playing 2033. This redux saved me from both problems and the fact that it was also the best versions of the games with all dlc is crazy amazing.

Within the first few minutes I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere, the music, the narration, the Russian accents, the dark environments, the suspense, the fear, the need for survival and on and on and on...all this creates some of the best immersion in video gaming period. The metro itself is a character in the game I feel...a very important one in that as well, the metro can be scary and dark yet at times its soothing and comforting in the context of the situation. The scenario in these games is not unbelievable either...people trying to live in this post apocalyptic world. You will see kids/people begging for bullets(the currency in game), people talking about their problems or loss of loved ones, merchants selling things and trying to run their businesses, THAT AMAZING GUITAR TUNE...all this will make you feel a part of the world in a very big way and not many video games can get the player to feel as such. For the immersion alone this redux is worth the money and 5/5 stars.

The story is interesting too. Some reviews said it starts slow then picks up but I was gripped as soon as I heard the first narrative, I do admit that it gets better but it was not sluggish/slow to me at least. The weapons, looting, customization and everything was as expected and adds some minor rpg elements. Its not as detailed as Fallout but that's fine because Metro is its own game and in a very good way. The controls all work as they should and the best part is that 2033 uses Last Light's controls, because of this both games are smooth to play.

Overall this collection of the Metro games needs to be in every gamer's collection. This game is what the gaming industry needs to be. I understand MP is important to people but single player needs to be as well. Don't get me wrong, if you enjoy COD or Battlefield with their yearly installments that's fine...BUT when companies can get away with selling unfinished/broken/buggy games then I have a problem. Metro Redux is everything I look for in a game. Story, gameplay, heavy single player focus and tons of content. Oh and a challenge too. Metro is a great challenge but not in a annoying way more in a "I got this" or "One More Time" way. I highly recommend Metro Redux to all kinds of gamers because it is a great experience and will stay with you like it will for me. The gaming industry needs more games like Metro Redux in different genres as well. Game On!!

1) Very Enjoyable Dynamic Stealth Assassination Game - Gamers will recognize structural elements from Bioshock, which, to my mind, is a very good thing. Here, however, the stealth mechanics work flawlessly, and your magical abilities aren't simply various weapons. Rather, the mechanics allow you to teleport short distances, see through walls (a la Batman, Deus Ex, Assassin's Creed, etc) and inhabit animals and other humans. Not only are these mechanics just cool, they allow you to attack objectives in a multiplicity of ways. DISHONORED is thus a game that can sustain at least a few play throughs.

TIPS:
Get Dark Vision Immediately.
Then Upgrade Blink to level 2.
Then upgrade Agility to 1, as your ability to jump higher will enable higher blinks. Agility 2 is useless.
Then get Bend time. Then STOP time. Stop time costs 8 runes, and it's worth it--especially when you want to kill Tall Boys.

My only gripe would be that the game seems to punish you for being what you are--an assassin-- as killing just a moderate amount of people (in video game reality, obviously) leads to the "dark" ending. To that I ask, who hired the Church Lady as a designer on this thing? I did my best to spare non-combatants, yet the game still seems to take a dim view of killing. And I won't give anything away, but the "dark" ending is not satisfying. I was hoping for at least something bittersweet, like the end of The Searchers.

There's also no barometer to give you real-time data on how much "chaos" you're creating. However, you do get your stats at the end of a mission. So if you're going for the no-kill play through, you ca re-do that mission if you accidentally killed someone. (Unlike Deus Ex, which kept you guessing until the end--Lame.)

It would be good to have some "chaos" gradations in this game. Therefore, you could have a play through with

1. a normal ending (you killed a lot of guys because you're a badasss and they got in your way) but spared civilians, knocked out people when you could and weren't a complete psycho),
2. an ending where you were one of the Super Friends (you killed very few people).
3. a REALLY twisted ending where you played through as a complete homicidal maniac--killing everyone and their pets without compunction and without mercy and often without reason except because there's something wrong with you.

However, I simply played how I wanted--with a fairly strict scorched Earth policy--and watched the "happy" ending on YouTube. Maybe I'll do a no-kill play through at some later point.

But this is pretty nit-picky. Playing the game is really fun. I'm just a little irritated by the end (if you didn't get that).

In conclusion, if you dig first person stealth action games with broad (though not strictly open) worlds, buy this game. It's great.

2) Pretty Cool Overall, 4.5 out of 5! - This game was pretty cool and kind of a refreshing play, mainly do to the fact that the player has options about how he or she wants to go about undertaking the game! You can go full bore and just kill everyone, or there is ways to sneak around, and you can also render guards unconsious if you would rather instead of killing them. On my first time through, I experimented with several different ways of doing things and I tried out all the various different weapons & abilities, just to get a taste of everything and find out how I most preferred going about things.

I only had one main gripe about the game, and it was an ever so small annoyance too: Occasionally trying to chose a weapon or skill from the wheel, (especially as you earn more abilities & such) was sometimes a bit glitchy. For example, there were times later in the game that I was trying to chose my pistol with the regular shots over this one with explosive rounds and it would give me the pistol with the explosive rounds, and so on. It was a slight bit frustrating, but fortunately that only happened every once in a while.

The game was a little shorter than I was expecting, but then again it would seem short, especially after playing on a game like Skyrim off & on throughout many months. So don't let that deter you, because the game is actually a decent length...I'd say roughly around 15 hours. And just because I had no life for 2 days and sat on my arse & played it throughout much of release day and the following Wednesday, lulz.

I'd say definitely play it though! If you like stealth & action mixed in one game with all sorts of player options throughout the game, then I highly recommend checking this game out! I for one plan to play through it at least a couple more times eventually and try out different means of getting through the game...first time through was just a trial play to get a feel for everything. Next time I'm going to get down to business! Check this one out fellow gamers! I love a good stealth/assassin game! Looking forward also to Assassin's Creed III and Hitman: Absolution!

SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEWS –

1) Portable's first real FPS - Many had already played the Multi-player beta and most of the people loved it. Now, with the full release gamers will discover than there is more to this game than the MP.

First of all, Killzone Mercenary looks beautiful and runs without noticeable slowdowns on the PS Vita's impressive OLED screen. The game's graphic engine is a modified version of Killzone 3 rendering engine, a PS3 game. With some obvious textures and effects downscaling still, Mercenary is the best looking game on the PS Vita and the best looking portable FPS shooter I've ever had the delight of playing.

So, for those who were not able to enjoy the beta the multi-player is pretty much standard comparing it to a console game, you've got 3 modes (Mercenary Warfare, Guerilla Warfare, and Warzone). The first two modes were not available to play while the game was on closed and public beta. The first two modes are Death Match and Team Death Match respectively. Warzone is a team based mode with set strategic objectives in each of it's 5 rounds. You have to collect valor cards (dropped by an enemy when you kill it, or by an ally when it gets killed), interrogate enemies, hack van-guard capsules (twice), and kill as many enemies as you can. All of these 3 modes can be played in 6 decently proportioned maps. Multi-player is as robust as it gets for a handheld game: collectibles, ranks, a variety of weapons, and the van-guard modules.

Now, aside from the Multi-player mode, the game includes a 5-6 hour 9-mission single-player campaign that can be played in 3 difficulty levels plus contracts, which will take you back to single-player campaign missions to complete various objectives and get some extra money for it, which will help you to level up (leveling up depends on your total accumulated money) and buying new equipment from the arms dealer.

Money, money money... Everything you do on the game gives you money. From killing an enemy to just grabbing some ammo from the floor, you get a reward for almost everything you do in-game, in single-player mode and in multi-player mode. Your cash, equipment, and rank are shared between the single-player mode and the multi-player mode. This gives a chance to players that prefer to mostly play the single-player mode to enter a multi-player match whenever they want and not be humiliated by players who had been playing MP only and have already unlocked everything there is to unlock or max-leveled.

Unlike the two big shooter games that came for the PS Vita before it (Resistance: Burning Skies and Call Of Duty Black Ops: Declassified)Killzone Mercenary has done it! It has created a console-like FPS experience on a handheld that has been through some tough times because of the lack of games like this. This game is a technical marvel and a game every PS Vita owner who enjoys FPS games should get. The reviews from the critics do not seem to get the fact that this is pretty much a revolutionary portable FPS done right, extremely right. In my humble opinion, the critics reviews absolutely DO NOT make this awesome game the justice it deserves. You just have to try it by yourself. I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed.

2) Wish every Vita game was this amazing! - Killzone Mercenary is the Vita game we have been waiting for. This game is a battery killer because you wont want to put it down! You will be hooked for hours on the first play through until you get a headach like me! As soon as you start playing it you get excited because of how beautiful it looks and feels. It feels like a real FPS in the palm of your hands. It's fun, engaging and satisfying

Let's dive deeper:

Controls- the controls feel great. The buttons are set up just like a FPS would be on the PS3. You can use the buttons or the touch screen/ rear touch pad. Touch the screen to open doors, pick up ammo, set a bomb, and kill your enemy with a mele. Also, you can use the rear touch pad to run faster. You think it would feel weird, but it actually works since your fingers are closer to the back pad than to the O button.

The only issue I have with the controls is that after playing for a while, my hands hurts. But I think that's only because playing multiplayer for a long time will do that to anyone.

Graphics- This game looks like a console game. Maybe not as good as recent PS3 games, but at least as good (if not better) than older PS3 games. So just like every new console, the graphics will only get better from here. But don't get me wrong, the game looks beauitful as is. Multiplayer looks amazing! And the funny thing is, it looks better than Call of Duty game I have ever played on my PS3.

Multiplayer - Multiplayer just has 3 modes. Pretty much it's Free For All, 4 vs 4 death match, and Warzone (which some of you played on the Beta) My favorite? The free for all! It is so fun to have that "every man for themselves" feeling. The scoring isn't by points. It's by cash. For every kill you get, you get cash that you can spend on new guns (same for story mode) The maps are wonderful! The one in the Beta felt small after a while, but the other maps feel too big for only 8 players. But they are fun to explore.

Spawning is fast and sometimes you will get killed as soon as you come back. But that never happened more than once in a match.

Single Player- Haven't played more than the first mission, but it was really good. So far, the story seems pretty bad ass and its keeping it simple. It takes place between Killzone 1 and 2, so thats cool as well. I can't wait to play all the missions (even though I hear it's a short story).

Overall, as soon as you start playing this game you are going to realize it is one of the best games for the Vita. I can't wait to finish this review so I can go play it again!
